THE GENDARMES COMPANY FROM TECUCI BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 1918-1929

Summary/Abstract: The Tecuci Gendarmes Company between the years of 1918-1929 is a subject very little addressed in the Romanian historiography, respectively in the Romanian Gendarmerie History, discovered after researching the archival documents from funds such as the General Inspectorate of the Gendarmerie and the Regional Gendarmes Inspectorates held by the National Historical Archives. By analyzing these documents, but also by consulting specialized works, we aim to bring to the public attention data on how this company was organized, its staff, attributions, how it performs its professional activity, on-line missions and safety. publishes, the role of the gendarmes within this company in the campaign of the First World War and finally the gendarmes who were noted for their dedication, strength and courage in their activity, for which they were rewarded and medaled.
