Summary/Abstract: The gas transportation system plays an important role in the producer-consumer equation. The pipeline system makes possible the gas transportation from the deposit to the consumers. In the absence of a gas transport system, the gas delivery would be impossible and without the consumer market, the gas demand would not exist. As a result, all the activities in the gas sector are interdependent and are impossible to remove from the equation. In Romania, the national transport system is administered by Transgaz S.A. Media, respectively, Transgaz is directly responsible for the proper functioning of the transport system in optimal conditions of quality, safety, and economic efficiency. The following paper aims to highlight the impact generated by the modernization and development of the natural gas transport system on the environment.
