Summary/Abstract: The functionality of the Internet, which is defined in respect of technological innovations, is mostly related to communicational and informational potential of the solutions which make it possible to go beyond the limitations of time, space and physicality as such. In this approach the more efficient the users are in breaking these barriers, the more useful the Internet itself will become. It is particularly important for the disabled persons, to whom the Internet offers a chance to cope with perception and motoric dysfunctions, becoming a very real, McLuhanian “extension of a human being”. The article shows the share of disabled persons in the population of the Internet users in Poland as well as describes the way in which they use the Internet and the solutions offered by the Web which they apply. Every issue was analyzed in the light of basic social and demographic characteristics of the disabled Internet users. To obtain a more comprehensive picture, the analysis also covered those users who were not disabled. The analysis was based on the data from Diagnoza Społeczna 2013.
