Consideration on the Biography of the Scientist Nicolae Vasilescu – Karpen (1870–1964)

Summary/Abstract: The author of this text was interested on the biogra phy of Vasilescu Karpen, from the point of view of his scientific work, having preoccupations close to those of the scientist above, at the actual level. After an examination of known papers, one can see the large development attributed to one of his achieve ment, namely, called in those papers, Karpen cell, that being the cell of the Museum Prof. eng. Dimitrie Leonida in Bucharest, without mentioning other of his achievements not less impor tant. However, the named scientist created various types of cells, on identical principles, he called generally K cells, and for dis tinction, he affected them with certain indices. Other data missed in known literature: a. Birth date; b. No teaching nomination at Lille, but presented there some exposures; c. Important role in the final form of the magnetic circuital law; d. Creation of new combustion cells.
