Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on travel books by the friar Ivan Frano Jukić Putovanje iz Sarajeva u Carigrad god. 1852. mjeseca svibnja (Journey from Sarajevo to Constantinople in the year 1852, in the Month of May) from 1861 and Adolfo Veber Tkalčević Put u Carigrad (Journey to Constantinople) from 1886. In addition to the language and orthography, special attention is paid to the travel book genre, i.e. the type of text that these books belong to.
