Summary/Abstract: The article examines a newly discovered dated signature of the ethnographer Dimitar Marinov, left in the marginal field of a transcript of the Tale of Barlaam and Joasaph (PM 3/14). A hypothesis is expressed for the most probable year written in the note. Relationships between the public activity of D. Marinov, Rila Monastery and A Tale of Barlaam and Joasaph are outlined.
