Summary/Abstract: The world of today would be unthinkable without the computer technologies which are currently present in every field of human activity. However, apart from assisting us in our daily chores, they can be instrumental in solving tasks of various scientific nature. The digital methods for gathering and processing of special data have been developed primarily for the needs of Geodesy in order to map areas of the Earth’s surface. Yet, it turns out that these methods can be successfully applied to create digital images of small objects of historical value which are an inseparable part of the cultural heritage of the world. This article presents the application of digital photogrammetry for the preservation of epigraphic monuments in the form of digital data. The emphasis is laid on the precision of the 3D-models which have been created as a final product and on the measurements and the analyses that can be subsequently carried out.
