Summary/Abstract: The topic of the article is a reflection on the possibilities of using short press texts in teaching foreign language phraseology. In the article, examples of exercises and tasks developing language skills and phraseological competence will be shown on the example of texts taken from German newspaper „Die Zeit“ (2012). The subject of the article meets the expectations of teachers as well as the postulates of phraseologists.
