Summary/Abstract: Issues relating to economic and social rights are very important in the context of immigration. The right to work, the right to social security, the right to education, the right to health etc. are inherent to all human beings, whether or not immigrants. These rights are governed by numerous international instruments. States cannot ignore their obligations to respect and protect human rights.
