Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the Chinese doctrine of peaceful development, elaborated during the Hu Jintao administration, focusing on several elements of the historical context in the light of the international climate and the regional and domestic situation of PRC. The Hu Jintao doctrine emerged from the background of the economic evolution of PRC; the doctrine’s content – its principles, objectives, strategic, diplomatic, economic and ideological modalities –generates effects and critics reflecting the answers to these doctrine narrations and diplomatic actions. We analyzed the evolution of the doctrine, arriving to its present and very personal re-use by the Chinese leader, Xi Jinping.
