Summary/Abstract: Teaching a foreign language means focusing on access to fluency and it is also communication-oriented lessons. Our concern is how to teach grammar for beginners with that kind of communicative approach proposed by the textbooks and used by the teachers. In the Middle East, all the textbooks used for teaching French as a foreign language are imported from France or countries like the United States or UK, etc. Therefore, they are not focused on our students’ profile and on their educational background which belongs to the traditional language teaching method. The students studying French are always complaining about the French grammar for being very difficult to catch up and a lot of them prefer quitting French whenever the subject is not mandatory. If they do not quit French, we can obverse that they miss some important French grammar basics which affect their proficiency in the language for writing and speaking. As a French teacher, we should understand why the students face those difficulties and which remedial teaching strategies will help them fix the French grammar. This paper presents the argument that contextualizing the teaching of French basic grammar can dramatically boost teaching and learning outcomes! It will also demonstrate that a deeper experience in language teaching and a good knowledge of the learners will help the contextualization process.
