Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the educational situation of students and young people withSEN in Romania and in the world, with special emphasis on measures that can be taken to improvethe situation. The education of children and adolescents with special needs must meet all their specificdevelopmental needs. Special education should also provide an adequate assessment of the specificdevelopmental and learning potential of these children and should thus ensure the rehabilitation,recovery and compensation of their deficiencies.Beyond the resumption of theoretical concepts suchas normalization, equal opportunities, integration, integrated and / or inclusive education, socioprofessional integration in order to provide a comprehensive theoretical framework, this paperbrings new notes by addressing disability from the perspective of identity construction, inclusionchildren with multiple associated deficiencies / multiple disabilities in this framework of inclusiveeducation, as well as through the comparative analysis on the relationships that are established intracing the aims of education between inclusive education and the general current of education.
