Summary/Abstract: The energy policy of the European Parliament has constantly adapted to themacroeconomic and geo-strategic realities of the member states policies and beneficiaries demandsfor a secure, sustainable, guaranteed suplly at affordable and competitive prices. The EuropeanUnion, as a major beneficiary of energy, still has a vulnerable and unstable position on the globalmarket. Updating policies on increasing global energy demand, as well as the appearance of possiblethreats, influences producers and transit countries. Climate and energy challenges, supportingeconomic development, meeting the energy efficiency target set as a contribution to tempering energytransfer, decarbonisation demands, lead to the development of research, innovation and increasingcompetitiveness. Through directives issued by parliament and member states, the energy union hasincreased the EU's shock resistance and fundamentally modernized European policy on modernizingand streamlining the energy system, completing climate goals and using clean energy sources
