Summary/Abstract: Relire le relié is the last book written by Michel Serres, philosopher and historian of science, member of the French Academy, who left us on June 1, 2019, the book representing “a few decades of efforts devoted to linking all operations of synthesis”, the author himself tells us on the back cover. A book which “varies on the two origins of the word religion, […]: reread and relate”. The book, dated “Agen 1945, Vincennes 2019”, is structured in three chapters: “Hot spots, summits of the network. Vertical binding”, “Connecting men, violence and love. False gods: violence and death. Horizontal binding” and “The problem of evil”. Exact sciences, humanities and religion are interconnected in a continuum that demands the sustained attention of the reader, whose curiosity is constantly rewarded. The continuum, goes back to a very distant past which lies at the origin of the composition and organization of the contemporary society threatened at this moment by a dissolution which, paradoxically, represents the binder for what is being prepared.
