Summary/Abstract: Unaccompanied migrant children are one of the most vulnerable categories of migrants. States should be able to provide the required protection based on international law and regulations that apply at regional level. The best interest of the child should prevail in all situations. The following paper focuses on the main legal instruments used at the European level, including the European Union level, and their development.
