Summary/Abstract: The article contains a review of the history of legal and institutional conditions concerning corporate crime in the United States, with particular emphasis on the development of criminal liability of enterprises. It presents theoretical considerations about this phenomenon, the most important legal regulations relating to corporate malpractice, prosecutors’ guidelines and models of cooperation between corporations and the judiciary. The paper also covers the issues of empirical research on corporate crime and the presentation of available data.
