Security Prospects - A Source for Romanian Military Thinking

Summary/Abstract: In this article, we address the need for anticipating the future as a way to understand the main changes that could influence national security. The main contribution of this paper is the identification of five tendencies of the future and the analysis of their impact over Romanian military thinking.The purpose of this paper was attained through the analysis of trends and factors – a highly appreciated method for implementing change and development in organisations. In this respect, the main conclusion of this article is that anticipation becomes a milestone for Romanian military thinking.This point makes possible the securitisation of Romania, enabling the Romanian Armed Forces to adapt and to change.
