Summary/Abstract: This paper is a poetic testimony of the war in Faruk Sehic’s book Under Pressure. The paper defines the poetics of testimony and what it entails. It covers a corpus of short stories that focus on the war experience from the front. The paper discusses the war and its aftermath. Through certain stories he discerned how war affects people and their lives, how heroes perceive war, and how their heroism is presented. Paper tries to investigate the pressure that is present and what it presents. The issue of survivor and survivor shame is problematized. This paper will discuss how death is presented in Sehic’s stories and what the final results of the war are.
