Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of Russian and Polish derivation: removal of polysemantic morphems by means of creation of compound suffixes. In the Russian language in nouns denoting occupation the second suffix -щик is used, in Polish the suffix of adjectives -ow (у) is used. Together with the suffixes -тор, -тель, -tor, -acz they form new compound morphemes -торщик, -тельщик, -torowy, -aczowy with narrower meaning „person, doing work”.
