Summary/Abstract: Latentprints are very common and important form of physical evidence that can be found at the crime scene. Traces of papillary lines may be present on various objects. Such objects can also be surfaces of fruits and vegetables. An important question for investigators and the judicial system is to determine the exact time of the appearance of latentprints-the age of the trace. The aim of this research is to try to determine whether it is possible to develop latentprints by using selected procedures, and if it is possible, to try to determine how long it is possible to find them (age of the trace), and finally try to determine, possibly, the characteristics of the developed latentprints which can help us to determine the exact age.
