Summary/Abstract: The study is based upon the research of several leaflets unknown to the Romanian Old Bibliography. Thus, new printings from the 18th and the 19th century are brought to the attention of the old Romanian books historians. Their descriptions are rich in new information. The first printed leaflet, impressive by its form and information, is an exemption from taxes, granted by the martyred voivode Constantin Brâncoveanu, with the printed year of 7218 (1710). Another type of leaflets consists of the priesthood folios. They are certificates by which the entitled bishop of an eparchy certified the fact that the priest (the minister) that possessed such a document was canonically ordained and it was lawful for him to settle and minister in the mentioned parish. Although many of this type of leaflets remained, they still deserve being mentioned as aspects of a hierarch’s church activity, and also as a completion to the Old Romanian Bibliography or the Modern Romanian Bibliography. Another category of printed leaflets issued in great number on our territory consists of the so-called forgiveness of sins folios. These forgiveness folios did not replace the Mystery of Confession, they only confirmed the forgiveness of sins through the charity performed. In the text, there are descriptions of forgiveness of sins folios issued by the patriarchs Gherasim Pallada of Alexandria and Silvester of Antioch. The study enriches the repertoire of old Romanian books and graphics, brings to light some moments from the Romanian printing press history and confirms, once again, the efforts of the Orthodox Church for the dissemination of the Holy Word and Teaching amongst the people.
