Hristo Botev's Detachment — Strength and Composition

Summary/Abstract: In the vast literature about Hristo Botev.s detachment in general are elucidated the questions of its organization, battle route and engagements, importance, etc. A great deal has been done also in studying the participants and in establishing its entire composition. Yet not fully have been solved the problems of the exact number of its members, of the criteria by which as such should be qualified certain persons, of specifying the exact muster-roll of the detachment. This paper is an attempt to re-examined these questions and as far as possible to contribute to their clarification.
