Summary/Abstract: The article contains a description of the changes that have taken place in social rehabilitation activity in Poland over several decades, indicating current development trends inthe theory and practice of social rehabilitation. The evolution of changes can be observed inthe approach to the essence of human nature and the problem of evil, in the responsibility for the problems that man generates and for solving these problems, as well as in the image of the person assisted in the process of social rehabilitation, or finally in the perception of the role of the educator (person providing support).
