Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the nature of the Left-Wing defeat after 1989 and the memory modes of defeat. How could memory of defeat be productive and what emotion could frame it? The cognitive values of concepts (melancholy and melodrama) and memory mode of the Left-Wing icons have been discussed: Yuri Gagarin and Che Guevara. Memories are scattered, memory is organized past, but history is a checked memory. The neoliberalism synchronously monitors all three forms of consciousness today. In conclusion, several patterns of self-reflexive memories have been presented, as well as the proposals to the anticapitalist Left how to resist the dictates of hegemonic neoliberalism today and how to provide a different view of the own past.
