Summary/Abstract: The information and historical data related to Russian monasticism in the eleventh century are not absolutely non-existent, but unfortunately, the only historical information tells us that monastic life on the territory of Russia during this century, is that with the transition to Christianity Russian and with the beginning of the construction of some churches, some monastic settlements were established. But about their naming or their patron saints, or their location, the sources give us absolutely no information. We can only assume that these monastic settlements in the first phase practiced the hermit life and then over time began to organize in the form of public settlements.
