Summary/Abstract: Two main changes of nasal vowels as phonemic transformations have been described on the basis of Old Russian manuscripts from XI c. Prosodic characteristics of syllable are general condition of phonemic neutralization и — ρ and a — ę, although they are different in various dialects (the stress or the quality of the following consonants).
