Summary/Abstract: The present article is an attempt at a presentation of the conception of literature worked out within a group LEF. As the research material the author used the programmes, manifestos and theoretical opinions published in periodicals such as “LEF” and “NOVYI LEF”. From the whole of the LEF’s proposals concerning poetry there were separated two conceptions: “construction of life” and “linguistic” which in a specific way interpreted the problem of the essence and function of poetry in the new socio historical conditions. Whereas, as far as prose is concerned the author concentrated on the discussion of LEF’s programme of “the literature of fact” (documentary literature). Attention was paid as well to this element of the theory of LEF which was concerned with the definite understanding of the model of creative personality and with properties of creative process.
