Summary/Abstract: The present text is a strictly methodological and analyzes the possibilities for constructing a scientifically based methodology for empirical study of undeclared work. Given the weak conceptual development of the conceptual apparatus, special attention has been paid to refining the content of the concept of "undeclared work" and its relationship with the concept of "undeclared labour". The text purposefully works with the term "empirical study" in order to emphasize that the study is a complex process, in the course of which many separate but coherent and internally consistent actions has to be realized.
