The main theme in these pictures whose artists are usually unkown is the description of the nature or a known place. The first pictures in the Palaceare the description of the nature landscape. These landscape pictures whose first ewamples are seen in the Period of Abdülhamid (1774-1789) and which were hand-drawn in Baroque or Rococo cartridges, are named “Wall Pictures” (Renda, 1977: 9).In the second half of the 18th century, Wall Pictures, which are a type of Ottaman painting art, started to draw attention also outside of the Palace.
