Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article. To find out new facilities and methods of the use of computer technologies in modern musical practice on the example of the description of work and vast possibilities of one of the mightiest musical editors of Cakewalk SONAR Platinum. Methodology. The article uses a systematic approach, and also applies methods of comparison and generalization. The scientific novelty of work consists of the expansion of possibilities of composers, arrangers, sound producers, and beginning musicians at the creation of music using one of the mightiest modern musical editors of Cakewalk SONAR Platinum. Conclusions. Working with a computer significantly reform the creative process of the composer, arranger, sound engineer, and his results. There are new forms of existence of musical works that are impossible without computer technology. It becomes a real computer music performance. All this requires an understanding of the science of music, the essence of these changes, their novelty, as well as the need to research modern music computer technology.
