Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article. The work consists in expanding the process of creative associative imagination of the choreographer-director, which acquires a special poetry while listening to songs of literary origin, as well as to identify creative directions in creating the artistic image of the work in folk-stage choreography based on folk poetry and his dramatic canvas. The methodology research is to apply comparative and art-study methods. The abovementioned methodological approach allows to reveal and analyze the peculiarities of the use and significance of works of folk poetry in the stage work of the choreographer, to identify the distinctive features of the creation of an artistic image on their literary-musical basis in folk-stage choreography. The scientific novelty the work consists in expanding the process of creative associative imagination of the choreographer-director, which acquires a special poetry while listening to songs of literary origin, as well as to identify creative directions in creating an artistic image in the folk stage choreography, directorial design and development of its dramatic canvas. Conclusions. Performing a stage production of folk dance, where the main hero is an art-stage image, created on the basis of works of folk poetry, namely, songs of literary origin, choreographer, combining different arts in musical-plastic synthesis, and having all the expressive means of dance, must It is good to understand that literary images are not just the disassembled features of real people, it is a generalized, typified image of a certain group of people.
