Summary/Abstract: This article aims to investigate a new scientific interest in literary sociology (i.e.the artistic individuality) through a few critical reflections on some recent works that offer a sociological approach to the genre of literary biography (Pascal Durand on Mallarmé, 2008; Bernard Lahire on Franz Kafka, 2010). Secondly, we propose a closer look at the tradition of biographism in the Romanian literary space, trying to identify the possibilities and limits of the biographical approach, focusing on the particular case of the communist period in Romania.
