Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the blend of propaganda and actual research carried out by Pushkin scholars during the War. Topics to be covered are: the historic supermyth of Mother Russia — The Third Rome; the general myth of the poet and several submyths created during the war; how Pushkin’s name was exploited in the campaign against cosmopolitans; some asepcts of his actual attitude toward his motherland.
