Summary/Abstract: In order to analyze it, the author o f this article presented the characters of ’’small”, insulted and injured Jews in I. Babel’s collection of short stories Cavalry. The key for the approach to Babel’s work is found in the fact that it originated in the tradition of several cultures and civilizations.
