Summary/Abstract: In the 21st century, literary history can no longer be perceived as an autonomous, monolithic discipline. To what extent is it open to structural and methodological influences from non-literary disciplines, such as cognitive science? In terms of content selection and value attribution, what would the benefits of connecting literary history and cognitive neurology and psychology be? The aim of my study is to provide answers to these questions, while rereading the works of 20th century Romanian novelists (Camil Petrescu, Anton Holban, G. Ibrăileanu) and authors of literary histories (E. Lovinescu, N. Iorga, G. Călinescu) from a neuroscience perspective.
