Summary/Abstract: Addressing global data privacy issues of recent years, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was adopted in May 2016 by the European Union and came into force two years later in May 2018 for the member countries of the EU. Our research seeks to answer if, given the prevalence of information and communication technologies, there is a conscious attitude and caution in disclosing personal data and using the Internet in an age group that was born into digitalization and their lifestyle is characterized by it. This paper pursues a broader perspective of Generation Z’s data protection knowledge and their actual relationship with data protection. Particularly, it seeks to answer the level and form of awareness characteristic to this generation when it comes to data protection.
