Genersich´s view on the constitution of the Protestant Hungarian schools in the 18th century

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the work Ueber die jetzige Verfassung der protestantischen Schulanstalten in Ungarn, nebst einigen Vorschlagen zu ihrer grosern Vervollkommnung (Vienna, 1803) by Johann Genersich with the aim of expressing his views on the situation of the Protestant schools in Hungary in the 18th century. The first part outlines the situation in the Hungarian school system of the 18th century using the school reforms that have been implemented. The second part introduces the person of educator and writer Johann Genersich. The third part presents Genersich’s criticism of the constitution of the Protestant schools in Hungary at that time with the concrete drafts for their improvement.
