Summary/Abstract: The aim of this short paper is to present an understanding of the relationship between philosophy and theology in thought of two of the most important Christian thinkers, Augustine and Thomas Aquinas. Without any pretension to be thorough or to present a deep analysis, this paper will deal with several “key points” most relevant for our topic in the works of both philosophers - theologians. We will also try to contextualize the relationship of philosophy and theology in Christianity, and to show the legacy that both thinkers have left for further development of Christian philosophical and theological thought in general.
