Summary/Abstract: This article argues that although electronic governance has been institutionalised as a public policy that promotes access to information, transparency and control of public institutions by citizens, the introduction of electronic governance has not immediately generated a positive impact on the reduction of corruption and that, consequently, other complementary actions are necessary in order to execute the public policies of electronic government.
