Summary/Abstract: This text concerns the methods of using narration in the paintings and drawings of Franciszka Themerson. These methods result from the artist’s cooperation with her husband, Stefan, with whom she co-created numerous book publications since the 1930s. This text shows the influence of the circumstances of war on the transformation of Themerson’s artistic approach. It also links her artistic practice with the philosophical concept of becoming explicated by Gilles Deleuze in the context of Lewis Carroll’s work.
