The Hebrew Printing Press in Galați

Summary/Abstract: This article aims at reconstructing a list of materials printed in Hebrew letters in Galați, as well as a list of printing houses that published texts in Hebrew letters, in the same city. These were books, brochures, periodicals and leaflets printed in Hebrew and Yiddish language between 1881 and 1937. The list is not complete: historical and bibliographic research will complete it in the future. In the case of several published materials, we were not able to identify the printing houses, as they were not mentioned, or – in the case of publications taken over from bibliographies – they were not referred to in the respective bibliographies.
