THE DISEASE OF A FAMILY MEMBER AND FAMILY RELATIONS

Summary/Abstract: The disease of a family member affects the family situation and relationships within the family. Muscular and neuromuscular diseases occur in children, adolescents and young people. These are diseases that become a "condition" due to the impossibility of cure, and it is further changeable due to the progression of the disease. In this paper, we deal with family and family relations connected to the age of the diseased person, social influences that require a change in the traditional approach to the disease and a change in family relations. Social changes also influence changes in prejudices, attitudes, and legislation. Through this paper, we want to indicate the opportunities provided in counseling work with social protection beneficiaries, in order to help families establish good family ties and live happily within the family.
