Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the relationship between the native and the emigratedpopulation groups in Kosovo. Despite emigration, emigrants have a close and atthe same time conflictual (stereotypical) relationship to each other through variousforms of re-migration. This relationship is examined at different levels, alwaysdepending on the emigration history of Kosovo. The focus is on labour migrants in the 1970s and the war refugees of the 1990s.The majority of these emigrants found their new/second home in Germany.Through manifold forms of re-migration they bring a considerable transfer ofculture, language and economy to their old/second home. Both the presence of the emigrants and the presence of such transfers have asizeable influence on the local society and the landscape of Kosovo. At the sametime the influence and the transfers are not always welcome. The article attemptsto shed light on this discrepancy.
