Summary/Abstract: The history of one of the most important sources for the work of the Constituent Assembly in Tarnovo in 1879 is traced, when the first constitution of the Principality of Bulgaria was adopted, namely – the minutes of the parliamentary sessions and their subsequent promulgation in the Diaries of the Constituent Assembly. The problem of their accuracy and authenticity is examined. It is clarified how the minutes of the meetings were drawn up, what their specifics are, why they were changed and what their fate was. Why the original manuscripts were exported from Bulgaria and did not return until 1939. For the first time, the curious story of the original of the Tarnovo Constitution is clarified: how it could have been twice destroyed but saved.
