Summary/Abstract: In the ancient or modern commentaries on the pericope of Matthew 9, 1-8 were highlighted different aspects: the purpose of suffering, caring for the friends, the divine mercy etc. On a closer look, it can be seen that in the Gospel text are teachings about all three great virtues: faith, hope and love. Thus, this sermon is built around the theological virtues. The elaboration of the sermon was based on the writings of St. John Chrysostom, N. Steinhardt etc. and carried out according to the homiletical criteria. Being a moral sermon, it ends with an innovative exercise whose purpose is to exhort the auditorium to do good deeds for the sick people.
