Summary/Abstract: Introduction: The protection of patient´s personal data is a sensitive area and due to changing legislation, healthcare professionals often do not know whether the processing of patient´s personal data is correct, lawful or, on the contrary, violating patient´s privacy rules in relation to the provision of health care. Aim: The aim of the article is to provide information on the processing of personal data in practice in healthcare. Core of Work: Analysis of the current legislation of patient´s privacy in relation to the provision of health care. Conclusion: Pointing to the weaknesses of the current legislation from the perspective of medical practice. The analysis also confirms the need of regular training of healthcare professionals in the field of patient´s privacy, with a focus on practicing solutions to practical application issues.
