Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to briefly present and discuss the legislation of the Emperor Constantine the Great regarding the issue of evidences. Although it was relatively small, it retained significant historical significance, especially regarding issues related to the assessment of witnesses' testimonies. It became the basis for formulating the principle testis unus, testis nullus. It was also a source of inspiration for the emergence in later centuries of the so-called legal concept of evidence.
