Summary/Abstract: In the interview Dr. Peter Doorn speaks about the advantages of using computer in historical studies and education. According to him computer is a useful tool for historians. Dr. Doom shares his unexpected findings in historical and geographical studies on Greek history using computer methods and analyses. In this regard he presents the place of computer science and the Internet in the education mainly in the Department of social and economic history at the University of Leiden and the establishment of Netherlands Historical Data Archive. He also shares his views about Greek mentality, academic life and Balkan studies at his university. Part of the interview covers some methodological problems connected with different means of writing history, the debates between quantitative and narrative historians, the questions about subjectivity and objectivity in historiography.
