Disinformation Websites in Corona Time – Atmosphere of Distrust in Media

Summary/Abstract: Following the viral spread of disinformation and hoax corona news, it has been seen community of recipients who have a tendency to read and accept the content on the websites. This study examines how the disinformation websites try to define themselves and to achieve some financial support from their loyal readers as well. Their distinguishing from “mainstream media” comes from declaration of independence. Our paper points at the data about users of news websites and data about users od fake news portals. We can see the increasing number of users who read the websites with hoaxes and disinformation about coronavirus. We bring the example of text which is shared on the mentioned websites. In these days is necessary to see differences between readers’ communities.
