General price index formula

Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the proposition of the general price index formula. It is shown that the formula satisfies postulates coming from the Martini’s system of minimal requirements. It is also shown, analytically and by the simulation study, that the general formula fulfills the Laspeyres and Paasche bounding test. The conducted simulation study analyzes the volatility of the generated price index values for some fixed values of parameters.
